For my final project as a Multimedia Communications student at Blackstone Valley Technical, I was asked to create an infographic and a motion graphic emphasizing the skills that I developed in my four-year course of study. This experience allowed me to to demonstrate my skills in visual communication, design theory, and animation techniques to provide information in a clear and interactive way.

I had to pick a topic of interest to make an educational design for. It required a lot of research beforehand, both design and topic-wise. I wanted to create an infographic about gene therapy since it is a big interest of mine. Using a combination of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, I treated "The Basics of Gene Therapy". I worked hard to make sure it was organized in a way that allowed people with no knowledge of the topic to grasp the concept of it. I did all my research before the design process, but as I moved along I realized I didn't need to use all of my information. A lot more icon design was involved than I realized, so lots of trial and error was performed while trying to design fitting icons. Having grids was a huge help, as it helped organize different sections and allow the information to flow seamlessly. Looking back, I would like to try this again with more graphs and data tables to see how it would look. I love the colors, and I believe my icons work together.
After finishing my Infographic, I used the icons and text to create a motion graphic. I've never used Adobe Premiere for a major project like this, so I learned a lot about keyframes, moving graphics across the screen, and proper exporting for both assets and the video itself.
